WP 3.01 upgrade

Anyone having trouble automatically upgrading wordpress install on localhost?

I have used auto upgrade before no problem. Upgraded production server to 3.01 fine too.

localhost install stalls at "Unpacking the update…"

current WP is 3.0, Apache 2.2.11, php 5.2.9-1, mysql 5.1.32

if do it properly, should never have that problem

Can you be more specific? There's not a lot to do improperly in the process of clicking the button to upgrade automatically.

oh, sorry; I've missed the word 'automatically' since we've always upgraded manually
